Destiny-Vs-Karma
Dear Co-Earthlings !!
Sometimes back, I was asked the significance and relationship between luck-karma-destiny.
Let me share how I view this, in the simplest form.
Karma is a “flow” concept based on the kind of thoughts, words, actions, we perform or performed and it doesn’t end with our life. Rather, it is carried forward to the future or to the next lifetimes. This carried forward karma becomes our destiny in this lifetime or the next. Thus, in my view, some incidents in our lives are predestined because of our own choices – good or bad – in the past. The ones which are good become part of our rewards or fortunes and the ones which are bad are termed unlucky.

However, each cycle of karma-destiny has seeds of turning around the situation in or against our favour. So, when I am faced with an issue, firstly, I see it as a situation and look for its solution for the highest good of all involved. Seeing a problem/issue as a situation propels me to look for its solution rather than getting worried and weak which reduces the probability of success in finding an appropriate way out.
Taking responsibility for our situation is the first step towards success. I believe blaming someone for our failure or bad luck is a futile idea and total waste of time. It is none other than us, who hold onus of everything happening in our lives. Everything in life is bound within a desire-karma string. The better one has control over desires, the better one’s thoughts, words, emotions, and actions will be around that desire, which later will define one’s destiny- both fortune or misfortune.
Make “surrendering, detachment, forgiveness & gratitude” as your pivotal to quickly end the cycle of misfortune.
